Hybrid AV are delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2019 is…… THE BODIE HODGES FOUNDATION
This amazing charity was founded in 2012 by Nick Hodges following the death of his 10month old son, Bodie. Bodie saved four other children’s life’s by being an organ donor and The Bodie Hodges Foundation was devised as a way to support families who have been bereaved of a child of any age and to promote organ donation.
Bodies Boathouse
Nick and his family were fortunate enough to be gifted some time away in a holiday home and it was from this retreat that they realised as a foundation that they wanted to be able to provide a safe and luxurious place that families can spend time together after the death of a child.
In October 2016 Bodies Boathouse was officially opened, the boathouse is a luxurious 3 bedroom retreat at Tallington Lakes in Lincolnshire. This week Jon and Tara from Hybrid AV were fortunate enough to be invited to view the Boathouse personally to see where the fundraising for the Bodie Hodges Foundation goes towards.
It was an extremely humbling experience seeing just where bereaved families can go, the Boathouse is situated on an incredibly peaceful and tranquil lake with every luxury thought of including an amazing outdoor ‘Pod’ complete with cosy blankets, coffee machine and even a voucher for a meal at the onsite restaurant, The Bodie Hodges Foundation really have thought of everything.
Fundraising
Hearing about the number of families already booked to go there in 2019 and how the boathouse costs hundreds of pounds for each family to go, the fundraising efforts that the Bodie Hodges Foundation do each year are just vital to keep such an amazing experience going and to also go towards the Foundations long term goal of providing a specialist counsellor and who knows even one day in the future perhaps there will be Bodies Boathouse 2!
How will Hybrid AV be helping?
Having worked with The Bodie Hodges Foundation for the past 6 years we will be offering our Audio Visual and Décor services for free for an entire year ensuring that every penny usually allocated for the production of their events stays in the fundraising pot and not only will we be working our usual magic we will be going well over and above on all production and event décor aspects.
The first fundraising event will take place on Thursday 28th March 2019 at the Leicester Tigers Rugby Ground with special guests Martin Johnson and Darren Farley.
